Armand Hammer, a duo with nearly a decade of collaboration and a longer history as solo artists, has made a significant impact on modern rap and hip-hop. Their lyrics combine sharp wit with deep socio-political, historical, and philosophical themes, often infused with incisive critique and gallows humor.
Their latest album, "Mercy," follows 2023's "We Buy Diabetic Test Strips," which received acclaim from The Observer and The Line Of Best Fit. Previously, their 2021 project "Haram," produced with The Alchemist, was noted for its exploration of postcolonial themes. billy woods, one half of the duo, recently released "GOLLIWOG," praised by Rolling Stone as a masterful work. ELUCID's 2024 album "REVELATOR" has also garnered attention, being named one of The New York Times' Best Albums of 2024 for its impactful sound and message.
