About This Event
AFRO RAVE Nigerian Independence Celebration takes place Saturday, October 3, at Starline Social Club, 2236 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Oakland. The event begins at 10 PM and is scheduled to run until late. Entry is for guests 21 and over.
The program uses all three rooms at Starline Social Club for African dance music, including Afrobeats, Amapiano, Dancehall, Gqom, Afro House, and additional genres from across the continent.
DJay Slim, Juan G, and DJ Leone are scheduled for a back-to-back set of Nigerian throwbacks. Special guest Laplayah will present the debut of her one-woman show.
AFRO RAVE resident DJs KOKO, Christé, GOMA, MOMO, Mena Man, and Unkamvula are also on the lineup across the venue’s three rooms.
