About This Event
A Night of Afrobeat & Latin Jazz takes place at The Betsy Hotel, 1440 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139, on August 30, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM. The evening begins with the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, led by Gordon Meyers and Diaspora Vibe Afro Beat All Stars.
The program continues at The Betsy from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM with live music featuring pianist and composer Edgar Pantoja and guest artists. Their set includes Latin jazz and world music that bridges traditional Cuban genres — rumba, son, and timba — with jazz, funk, samba, and Moroccan Gnawa.
The event is free and open to the public. It is presented in celebration of From Venice with Love: Edouard Duval-Carrié Retrospective and is produced in partnership between The Betsy Writers Room, FIU’s Public Humanities Lab, Iris Photo Collective, and Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator, with support from Pérez CreARTE.
