Join us for the 2025 Rides & Reggae Festival at VIX Ranch Park in New Castle, CO! This exciting event, organized by RFMBA, is a vibrant celebration of trail running, mountain biking, music, and community spirit. Best of all, entry is completely free!
Experience a weekend packed with adventure and entertainment, including live performances from local and national reggae & funk bands, bluegrass artists, and more. Whether you're racing or just soaking in the vibes, there’s something for everyone. Enjoy mountain biking and trail running races on the stunning Colorow and Highlands Trail Networks, tailored for all ability levels.
Not into racing? No problem! Join us for Friday’s free live music at Down Valley Brewing on Main Street, then head to VIX Ranch Park on Saturday for a day of fun, music, and breathtaking views from Castle Valley Ranch. Bring a blanket, relax, and dance the day away to incredible live acts. Kids 13 and under get in free with a participating ticket. Please note, dogs are not allowed inside the festival.
Festival Schedule & Highlights
Friday, August 1 (6:00pm - 10:00pm):
Location: Down Valley Brewing, 589 Main Street, New Castle
Enjoy the New Castle Dirty Dozen Trail Running Race starting at 6:00pm from VIX Ranch Park—an 8.5-mile course with approximately 1,100 feet of elevation gain. Race awards will be announced later at the brewery. The evening features live music from Still House String Band at 6:15pm and High Country Hustle at 8:00pm. Don’t forget to reserve your free tickets to help us plan!
Saturday, August 2 (7:00am - 10:00pm):
Location: VIX Ranch Park
- Dirty Dozen MTB Race: 20 miles with about 3,800 feet of climbing, starting at 7:00am.
- Dirty Half Dozen MTB Race: 7 miles with approximately 1,000 feet of climbing, starting at 9:30am.
Race awards for mountain biking and combined races will be held at Down Valley Brewing at 12:00pm. Enjoy an action-packed day with live music from The Know Bodies at 3:00pm, Wood Belly at 4:45pm, Mighty Mystic at 6:30pm, and The Motet at 8:30pm. Your race registration or trail ambassador ticket includes access to Saturday’s festival!
Exciting Prizes & Event Details
- The trail running and MTB race prize purse exceeds $3,000.
- First 150 registered racers receive custom socks, courtesy of Kim & Dalton Sallee.
- Register for both the 10K Trail Race and 20-Mile MTB Race to compete in the Combined Races Category.
- Prize categories include cash prizes for top finishers and age 50+ divisions.
